Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Meat Department Manager or experienced cutter looking to lead our meat department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, the highest standards of quality and customer service, and drive sales growth. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining a well-organized, profitable, and customer-focused department that exceeds expectations. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the meat department, providing excellent customer service.
- Manage inventory purchasing, merchandising, pricing strategies, and product displays to maximize sales and profitability.
- Oversee all aspects of store operations related to the meat department, POS (Point of Sale) systems, and store management procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, health regulations, and company policies through regular inspections and audits.
- Coordinate recruiting efforts for new team members, conduct interviews, and facilitate onboarding processes
- Follow store standards to promote the department’s offerings
- Maintain excellent communication with staff and owners to ensure smooth operations and achieve sales targets.
- Monitor departmental budgets, control costs, and implement pricing strategies aligned with company goals.
- Foster a positive team environment through effective leadership, motivating staff to deliver exceptional customer service consistently.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising or managerial experience in retail or grocery store environments an asset, particularly within meat or perishable departments.
- Strong knowledge of merchandising, purchasing, pricing, and store management principles.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency with POS systems, including Bizerba type scales
- Ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple priorities in a seasonally fast-paced setting.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and record keeping.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with strong phone etiquette skills and a professional demeanor.
