Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Line/Prep Cook to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing food (mainly brunch and eventually desserts), maintaining a clean and safe environment and helping with dishwashing when needed (loading and unloading dishwasher, drying utensils and plates, etc.). This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the food industry while contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and standards
- Follow clear instructions for recipes and ensure food quality
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, dining areas, and kitchen equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service and order fulfillment
- Assist in food safety practices, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Cleaning, organizing, drying and polishing dishes
- Support team members in various tasks as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food preparation and using a restaurant grade dishwasher is a plus
- Strong teamwork skills with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to handle food safely and maintain sanitation standards at all times
- Basic math skills for inventory count and management
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours
- Kitchen experience or familiarity with the food industry is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; a positive team-oriented attitude is essential
- Food Handling Certificate and other food safety prep certificates are a plus
