As part of a key functional service group, you are responsible for supporting and maintaining the services of the factory and its equipment. You are punctual, able to work any shift required, reliable and have a good understanding of the factory operation. You support the work group activities to achieve the established factory goals.
MAJOR DUTIES
Contributes to a healthy work environment, while maintaining high food safety standards
Maintain/ Monitor/Test/ log all steam generating requirements by operation code
Maintain/Monitor/Check all refrigeration equipment requirements to TSSA Standards
Participate in plant equipment repairs/installations
Interface with necessary Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective and or legal requirements
Carry out oral/ printed work requests and apply corrective measures in a timely fashion utilizing computerized maintenance system
Complies with Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Must hold a minimum of a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer and 2 years working experience
Must have experience working with ammonia cooling and compressed air systems
Must have experience working with boilers and steam
Self-directed / motivated team player open to new technology with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
Must have a full complement of personal/professional hand tools ID’d for Food Safety program
Able to communicate with co-workers, Supervisors and supervisors
Must be cooperative, reliable, responsible and punctual
Must have knowledge of Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) standard
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Physical Effort
§ Some heavy physical activities (lifting and reaching), walk/stand frequently, push/pull.
§ Able to work shifts on 24 hours/ 7-day week
2. Physical Environment
§ Exposure to noise (80-95 decibels) with PPE
§ Exposure to moving mechanical components, various energies, wet and slippery conditions, and varying temperatures.
§ Some exposure to ammonia vapour and chemicals.
3. Sensory - A high level of sensory attention is required.
4. Mental Stress - A moderate to high level of job stress may occur.
