Position Summary
Our client is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer to join their engineering team in Alliston, Ontario. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on automation, controls, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, troubleshooting, and improving automated control systems while supporting manufacturing operations and new automation projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI control systems.
- Support equipment installations, commissioning, and automation projects.
- Develop and implement control system improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve complex controls and automation issues.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, documentation, and programming standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and project teams on process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with HMIs, industrial automation, and electrical control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
