The Food Service (Nutrition) Supervisor in an acute care setting is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of patient food service to ensure safe, timely, and accurate meal delivery in alignment with prescribed diets and clinical requirements. This role provides direct supervision to food service staff, coordinates tray line and distribution activities, and ensures compliance with infection control, food safety, and dietary standards.
Key responsibilities include monitoring meal accuracy and quality, ensuring adherence to therapeutic diets, conducting audits for tray accuracy, and implementing process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and reduce waste. The supervisor collaborates closely with dietitians, nursing staff, and other clinical teams to ensure patient dietary needs are met.
This position also involves staff training, performance management, scheduling support, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced Food service environment.
