Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Primary Care Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, providing excellent patient service, and supporting clinical staff. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with electronic medical records, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in medical office settings is highly preferred to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional patient care. Must have strong communication skills.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow using electronic scheduling systems
- Verify patient insurance information and update records accurately
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally
- Collect patient information and assist with check-in/check-out procedures
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) using Telus Practice Solutionss
- Handle correspondence, faxes, and other administrative communications
- Assist clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed
- Manage billing and documentation related to patient visits
- Ensure the reception area remains organized, clean, and welcoming
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a medical office receptionist is extremely important
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Telus Practice Solutions
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office procedures and documentation
- Excellent communication skills, including experience with multi-line phone systems
- Office experience in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with front desk operations in healthcare settings, including appointment scheduling and insurance verification
- Administrative experience supporting clinical staff is essential
- Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills
- Strong computer skills
