Job Summary
The Hungry Traveler Cafe is a new family-run cafe and eatery with a vision to bring the community together through nutritious food experience. We are a halal café and provide breakfast, lunch and brunch options as well as pastry and baked goods. We are looking for new team member who is passionate about local food and amazing customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food and beverages according to standard recipes and portion sizes
- Assist with measuring, chopping, peeling, slicing, and mixing ingredients
- Cook, bake, grill, and assemble menu items as directed
- Ensure food is cooked and stored at safe temperatures
- Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines
- Analyze recipes and suggest menu changes or improvements
- Participate in menu planning and food budgeting discussions
- Help track inventory and report when supplies are low
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils by hand or using a dishwasher
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors
- Sort and dispose of waste and recyclables according to guidelines
- Restock cleaning supplies and report maintenance needs
Experience
- Knowledge of the standards and regulations for food preparation
- Plan Menus and help develop standardized recipes.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift 50lb (boxes of potatoes, bags of coffee, flour etc.)
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
