Job Overview
We are hiring a full-time Court Support Worker to join our Saskatoon team. This role provides direct support, advocacy, and system navigation for women and gender-diverse folks involved in the justice system.
You will support clients both in custody and in the community by providing court information, assisting with bail planning, connecting individuals to resources, and acting as a bridge between clients and legal professionals. The ideal candidate is trauma-informed, organized, and comfortable working in fast-paced and complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients in understanding court processes, rights, and next steps
- Conduct intakes and maintain accurate case management files and documentation
- Provide court preparation, accompaniment, and follow-up support
- Assist with bail planning, including housing, treatment, and community supports
- Write support letters and assist with court documents and applications
- Liaise with lawyers, Crown prosecutors, and justice system partners
- Identify cases appropriate for Gladue considerations and support next steps
- Attend court regularly, including new arrest court, trials, and decisions as needed
- Conduct institutional in-reach at Pine Grove Correctional Centre and Saskatchewan Hospital
- Connect clients to community resources including housing, treatment, and support services
- Provide ongoing, non-judgmental support in both institutional and community settings
Qualifications
Required:
- Post-secondary education in a human services field, or equivalent experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
- Understanding of the justice system and court processes
- Experience supporting individuals impacted by criminalization, addiction, or systemic barriers
- Commitment to ongoing learning around Indigenous cultures and histories
