Position Overview: reporting to the Director of Festival Operations, and also working alongside the Executive Director & Marketing Coordinator, this position coordinates the Festival's various social media and event components. This coordinator is willing to learn about event social media & marketing and is passionate about event planning and coordination.
Position Summary:
- Plan, organize budget and implement marketing strategies and event programming.
- Coordinate various activities related to social media content creation for 2026. And coordinating creation of content for future use.
- Coordinate the design of all onsite festival signage, order signage and inventory when receiving signage.
- Lead on-site logistics (including setup, operation & teardown) of the VIP Patios, Food Bike Tours and all festival signage during the Taste of Edmonton.
- Assist in the coordination of the exhibitor program.
- Lead on-site festival signage execution; setup of signage, strategic placement of signage, change over when needed, tear down of signage and inventory post festival.
- Communicate with stakeholders, including vendors, volunteers, staff, and management.
- Communicate with festival attendees and answer inquiries.
- Create marketing copy, reports, and presentation scripts.
- Managing contracts / stakeholders / onsite needs (wristbands / bar service).
- Assist with Taste of Edmonton ticket weighing after the festival
- Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
- Start date is June 15 , 2026 and end date is August 7, 2026
- 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week
- Office hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm (June 15 - July 10, 2026).
- Work extended hours; evenings and weekends, leading up to and during the festival. (Must be able to work July 11 - 31, 2026 inclusive). Overnight shifts will be required
- Office hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:00pm (August 4 - 7, 2026)
- Over time hours are paid at 1.5x after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week, whichever is greater, in accordance with Alberta Provincial Employment Standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Post-secondary degree (or current student) or certification in marketing, communications, public relations, events management, business administration, or other related fields.
- Ability to network, develop and maintain strong relationships with Taste of Edmonton partners and team members.
- Project management experience is an asset.
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Strong communication skills and is a punctual, meticulous, and reliable leader.
- Proficient in using Canva, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite applications.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools is a plus.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Employment Requirements:
- Follow the human resource policies and procedures in Alberta employment standards, current business processes and systems, and health and safety procedures and ensure policies.
- Comply with all Provincial, Federal and Municipal codes of practice and bylaws.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and be mobile for 8+ hours.
- Must be of legal age.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Must be local to Edmonton and be able to travel to shoots around the city.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
