Position: Fitter / Fabricator
Location: Mississauga, ON
Pay: $37–$42/hour (depending on experience)
Shift: Days – 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Job Summary / Responsibilities:
The role involves reading blueprints and fabrication drawings, preparing weld-ready assemblies, verifying dimensions and tolerances, and operating fabrication shop equipment including overhead cranes, forklifts, brake presses, and plate rollers. Candidates will work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum while supporting production, welding, and QC teams in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years of fitting/fabrication experience within a custom fabrication or heavy industrial shop
- Strong experience with tanks, conveyors, piping systems, structural steel, pressure vessels, and custom industrial equipment
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols
- Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
- Experience fitting pipe, nozzles, supports, platforms, structural components, and custom assemblies
- Strong understanding of measuring and layout tools including tape measures, squares, levels, and calipers
- Experience operating overhead cranes and fabrication shop equipment
- Brake press and plate rolling experience considered a strong asset
- ASME or pressure vessel fabrication experience considered an asset
- Forklift and crane certification considered an asset
- Trade certification considered a strong asset (437A Metal Fabricator (Fitter) Red Seal; Steamfitter/Pipefitter 307A (particularly for piping-related fabrication work)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Pay: $37.00-$42.00 per hour
