The Position:
The Standard Products (Sales) Support Co-op will work directly with the Manager – Production Innovation and Standards to assist in developing standard products, procedures, and efficiency tools. The incumbent will collaborate with Sales & Applications staff to deliver the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Contribute to the development of modular design concepts that can be applied across various industries and markets
- Conduct research on industry and competitive trends to inform the development of innovative product offerings
- Assist in evaluating technologies and supplier products for potential integration into standard solutions
- Engage in developing content on standard products for customer proposals, highlighting key features and benefits.
- Ensure proper documentation of standard designs and procedures.
- Enhance CAD data in product lifecycle management (PLM) systems to support seamless integration of standard product into design projects
- Analyze engineering data and identify areas for design-reuse
- Produce working drawings, detail drawings and bills of materials for designs, sub-assemblies or product using SolidWorks.
- Analyze designs/drawings/models and systems for compliance to determine additional factors for internal design re-use
- Assist stakeholders in advancing new technology or systems
- Assist in the creation of technical content for the central knowledge base.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Follow design best practices.
- Ability to work within a team environment and actively participate in group meetings
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned
- Ensure scheduled milestones are met
- Notify the appropriate departments if milestones are not projected to be met by expected due dates
- Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy
- Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse Corporate Vision
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures
- Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business
What We’re Looking For:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical and automation design.
- Post-secondary level proficiency in SolidWorks and MS Office
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to establish priorities and work without supervision
- Understanding of robotics, control systems and machine operation with hands on experience is desirable
- A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
