As we continue to grow, we’re hiring a proactive and driven Business Developer to help expand our client base and fuel our sales funnel.
Role Summary:
The Business Developer is responsible for initiating first contact with prospective clients and generating qualified leads for the Sales and Account Management teams. This is a high-volume outreach role focused on cold calling, email outreach, and early-stage lead qualification. You’ll be expected to handle initial objections professionally, identify opportunities for upselling ancillary products, and pass off qualified leads for conversion. You will play a key role in building awareness and driving demand for ELDS services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify high-potential leads in key industries such as property management, commercial real estate, logistics, and industrial services.
- Make consistent outbound calls and send personalised email outreach to generate interest in ELDS offerings.
- Engage prospects in meaningful conversations to understand needs and qualify them for sales follow-up.
- Effectively handle initial objections and position ELDS as a reliable, value-driven solution provider.
- Upsell and promote ancillary products and services offered by ELDS (e.g. dock bumpers, seals, truck restraints, safety accessories) to maximise lead value.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the company’s CRM platform.
- Collaborate with internal teams to refine outreach messaging and target segmentation.
- Meet activity targets including call volume, email sends, leads generated, and appointments set.
- Track outreach performance and provide insight into trends or gaps in lead engagement.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in inside sales, business development, or lead generation (preferably B2B).
- Strong phone presence with the ability to confidently and professionally engage cold prospects.
- Demonstrated ability to overcome objections and steer conversations toward opportunity.
- Familiarity with upselling and positioning value-added services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with strong time management and organisational abilities.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Airtable) and outbound email tools.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment.
- Knowledge of the loading dock or facility services space is an asset, but not required.
