Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Teacher or ECE Level 3 to lead our preschool program (ages 3–5). The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate program in alignment with Jolly Phonics while ensuring compliance with provincial licensing regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a play-based program guided by Jolly Phonics and children’s interests
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment in accordance with Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulation
- Supervise children at all times and maintain appropriate teacher-to-child ratios
- Complete ongoing observations and documentation of children’s learning and development
- Establish and maintain positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom and ensure health, safety, and sanitation standards are met
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Certified Teacher or Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 3 Certification (required)
- Experience working in a licensed child care or preschool setting preferred
- Willingness to complete course on Jolly Phonics to incorporate into play-based learning approaches
- Current First Aid & CPR (Child Care First Aid)
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last 6 months)
- Ability to meet all requirements under Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulation
Wages & Benefits
- Alberta Wage Top-Up (Government of Alberta):
- Certified Teachers & ECE Level 3 educators are eligible for up to $8.64/hour wage top-up (subject to current program funding and eligibility)
