Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Front Office Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires familiarity with dental and medical office procedures, electronic medical records, and multi-line phone systems to ensure smooth daily operations. Experience with dental software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly preferred. The Front Office Assistant plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment and supporting the clinical team.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out processes using Dentrix and other dental software.
- Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and handle rescheduling as needed.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, direct calls appropriately, and take messages.
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately.
- Collect payments, process billing, and assist with insurance claims processing.
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of medical information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining office supplies, managing correspondence, and supporting daily office operations.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day.
Experience
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with dental management software such as Dentrix and Epic is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems.
- Demonstrated experience handling multi-line phone systems and front desk responsibilities.
- Office experience that showcases excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to multitask effectively.
