Location – Edmonton, AB (Base)
Project Locations - Primarily Edmonton & surrounding based with short-term (3-21 days) periodic (10-30% of annual workload) out-of-town bouts.
Job Summary
Task Concrete Cutting & Construction is a specialty concrete subcontractor delivering complex concrete scopes on industrial and commercial projects across Alberta. With service offerings spanning complete concrete flatworks, above and below-grade structural and infrastructure services, and a fully developed saw-cutting, coring, demolition, and removal division — we are a team that does serious work on serious projects.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Concrete Foreman to lead a field crew on an 8-week industrial concrete project at a major energy facility in the Lloydminster area. You will be the ground-level lead — owning the crew, the work sequence, site safety, and daily output — working directly with our Superintendent and Project Manager to keep the job moving and hold standards high. We are prioritizing local talent from Lloydminster and the surrounding region.
Candidates with demonstrated experience in both flatwork and structural disciplines are strongly preferred. This is a project-based position with strong potential to extend or become permanent based on performance and fit.
Responsibilities
- Lead a field crew on concrete construction scopes: flatwork slabs, structural foundations, equipment pads, and related civil work
- Interpret and execute work from drawings and foreman briefing packages
- Coordinate daily crew activities, sequencing, and material and equipment logistics
- Maintain site safety standards and conduct toolbox talks
- Report daily production, identify issues early, and communicate proactively with the Superintendent
- Ensure quality and workmanship standards are met per ITP and project specifications
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of concrete construction experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or foreman role
- Demonstrated experience in flatwork and/or structural concrete (candidates with both disciplines are strongly preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret structural and civil drawings
- Valid Class 5 Non-GDL driver's licence with a clean 3-year driver's abstract
- Ability to obtain and maintain industrial site access
- Strong communication and crew leadership skills
- Saturday availability as project scheduling requires
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be able to clear all industrial/plant access requirements
Assets — Nice to Have
- Experience with engineered forming systems — Doka and Peri specifically
- Experience on industrial, energy sector, or heavy commercial projects
- Safety leadership training (NCSO, OHSA, or equivalent)
