Guest Services Manager – Halifax Airport Hotel
Halifax Airport Hotel is seeking an experienced and motivated Guest Services Manager to lead front desk operations and deliver an exceptional experience for every guest.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the day-to-day management of front desk operations, guest relations, shuttle and parking coordination, reservations, and staff scheduling in a busy airport hotel environment. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and genuinely passionate about hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all front desk operations including check-in/check-out, reservations, cancellations, and guest inquiries
- Lead, train, and schedule front desk staff to maintain consistent service standards
- Handle guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring satisfactory resolution
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to meet guest needs
- Manage shuttle and parking coordination in alignment with hotel procedures
- Ensure the front desk area remains organized, presentable, and operationally efficient
- Uphold hotel policies related to guest services, safety, and billing accuracy
- Support HR functions including onboarding, performance documentation, and staff accountability
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hotel front desk or guest services management is required
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and hold a team accountable
- Excellent communication skills — written and verbal
- Proficiency with hotel property management systems (experience with SkyTouch is an asset)
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are an asset given our diverse guest base
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in a 24/7 hotel environment
- Professional, composed, and guest-focused under pressure
