SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 0800 to 1630, some evenings and weekends as required.
SUMMARY: Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance 4 position is a seasonal role that supports the Operations Department in fostering a strong, community-minded image within the Town of Pincher Creek. Primary responsibilities include assisting the Parks and Open Spaces coordinator summer maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, weed trimming, event support, and general upkeep of green spaces, sports fields, parks, playgrounds, municipal campgrounds, and other recreational facilities.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide excellent customer service.

Operate riding lawn mowers, push mowers, and weed trimmers, pole saw and other landscaping equipment.

Perform a variety of parks and operations maintenance duties that include cleaning, emptying garbage, mowing, weed whipping of sports fields, parks and green spaces.

Assist with event setup and take down.

Ensure personal health, safety and wellness and look out for others.

Maintain in a current state all required qualifications for the position Maintenance 4.

Operate assigned machinery and vehicles.

Assist with maintenance of cemeteries.

Respond to work outside of regular work hours as required.

Ensure a safe work environment.

Attend meetings as required.

Communicate with and support other Town departments.

Take ownership of and solve problems as required.

Assist with emergent or unforeseen issues as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS

The work is performed predominately outdoors.

The incumbent is required to regularly lift objects up to 10 kgs and occasionally over 20 kgs.

The nature of the work exposes the incumbent to dust, dirt, sun, wind, rain, snow and noise on a semi-regular basis.

Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times and as required by specific tasks.

The work involves regular exposure to all weather conditions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Over 18 years of age
