Overview
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating various saws and machining equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring precise cuts and high-quality fabrication of materials. The Industrial Saw Operator will work closely with other team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various types of saws, including band saws and circular saws, to cut materials according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements.
- Operates general metal shop equipment and tools.
- Utilize measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures to ensure accuracy in cuts.
- Perform basic math calculations to determine dimensions and quantities needed for projects.
- Collaborate with the machining team to fabricate components as required.
- Conduct routine maintenance on saw equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment usage and safety practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills related to machining equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience operating forklifts is a plus; certification may be required.
- Knowledge of welding techniques is advantageous for fabrication tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
