Certified Teacher, Electrical Trades Technology
Salary Range: As per the Collective Agreement
Location: 7 Fultz Blvd.
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm
MITT is seeking a Certified Teacher for the High School Electrical Trades Technology Program. Reporting to the Principal/Dean, the successful candidate will provide engaging classroom and shop instruction while supporting students in developing the technical knowledge, practical skills, and employability competencies required for success in the electrical industry.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Delivering the Manitoba Education Electrical Trades Technology curriculum and related learning outcomes.

Providing an effective, inclusive, student-centered classroom and shop learning environment.

Supervising students and maintaining a safe learning environment in accordance with established safety procedures and practices.

Maintaining order and discipline among students participating in school-approved activities, both inside and outside the classroom.

Advising students regarding expectations, evaluating student performance, and communicating student progress.

Administering and marking assessments in accordance with Manitoba Education requirements.

Maintaining shop equipment, tools, and instructional resources.

Supporting career exploration and apprenticeship pathways for students.

Collaborating with school division partners, support staff, and colleagues to promote student success.

Participating in professional development and contributing to school initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate

Red Seal Construction Electrician certification
-
Recent related industry experience
-
Demonstrated commitment to student success and safe work practices
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
-
Experience teaching in a high school or vocational setting.

Experience with blended learning environments and learning management systems (e.g., Brightspace).

Experience working with diverse learners and differentiated instruction.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
