Position Summary
We are a limited-service hotel seeking an outgoing, dependable, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Maintenance/ Houseperson.
Previous hotel maintenance experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for someone personable, self-motivated, and capable of performing a variety of duties to help maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all public areas, including lobby, hallways, meeting rooms, fitness centre, pool area, and exterior grounds.
- Perform light cleaning duties as required.
- Complete routine guest room and public area maintenance repairs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
- Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to hotel standards.
- Assist with pool and hot tub testing and maintenance, where applicable.
- Monitor hotel facilities and report deficiencies requiring attention.
- Communicate directly with department heads to ensure maintenance issues and repairs are completed in a timely manner.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and preventative maintenance records.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.
- Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, and seasonal property upkeep as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel maintenance, building maintenance, or related experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry is an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Pool Operator certification is an asset but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to spend extended periods of time walking, standing, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be willing and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Flexible availability is required to support hotel operations and emergency maintenance needs.
