Position Overview
The Manager of Real Estate & Franchising is responsible for leading the strategic growth and development of D Spot Franchising Inc. through site selection, lease negotiations, franchise sales, and network expansion. This role plays a critical part in scaling the brand by identifying high-potential markets, securing prime locations, and onboarding qualified franchise partners while ensuring alignment with the company’s operational and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Real Estate Strategy & Site Development
- Develop and execute real estate strategies to support franchise expansion across target markets.
- Identify, evaluate, and secure high-traffic, high-visibility retail locations.
- Conduct market analysis, demographic studies, and competitive assessments.
- Negotiate lease terms, renewals, and amendments with landlords and developers.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to review lease agreements and mitigate risk.
- Maintain relationships with brokers, landlords, and real estate partners.
Franchise Sales & Development
- Lead franchise sales initiatives, including lead generation, qualification, and conversion.
- Manage the full franchise sales cycle from inquiry to signing of franchise agreements.
- Present franchise opportunities to prospective franchisees and investors.
- Ensure all franchise sales activities comply with applicable franchise laws and disclosure requirements.
- Develop and refine franchise recruitment strategies to attract high-quality operators.
Market Expansion & Growth Planning
- Identify new markets and territories for expansion based on data-driven insights.
- Create and manage territory maps and development plans.
- Align real estate and franchising strategies with overall company growth targets.
- Monitor performance of existing locations to inform future expansion decisions.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with franchisees, landlords, and external partners.
- Act as a key point of contact for franchise development and real estate matters.
- Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
Reporting & Performance Metrics
- Track and report on key metrics including deal pipeline, signed agreements, and store openings.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on expansion progress and opportunities.
- Manage budgets related to real estate and franchise development activities.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field (MBA is an asset).
- 5–10+ years of experience in real estate, franchising, or multi-unit retail development.
- Proven track record of negotiating commercial leases and closing franchise deals.
