Residential Child & Youth Worker – Full-Time, Part-Time, Casual
We are hiring compassionate and reliable staff to support youth in a residential care setting. Multiple positions are available, including weekday and weekend shifts.
Salary
$23.00 – $26.00 per hour
(Compensation varies based on qualifications, experience, and shift availability.)
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care, supervision, and support to youth in a residential environment
- Assist with meal preparation and promote healthy nutrition
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive living environment
- Lead and support recreational, educational, and life-skills activities
- Observe, document, and report on youth progress and behaviors
- Work collaboratively with team members to implement individualized care plans
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the residence
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to respond to challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism
- Strong organizational skills and computer literacy
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Qualifications
Requirements in bold are mandatory:
- Completion of post-secondary education in a related field (Child & Youth Worker, Social Service Worker, Developmental Service Worker, Youth Criminal Justice System studies, or related programs)
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Valid G Driver’s License
- Vulnerable Sector Clearance
- Board Record Check
- UMAB Certification
Additional Assets:
- Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices
- Experience with MCCSS guidelines and the Child, Youth and Family Services Act
- Trauma-Informed Care training
