Role Summary
We are hiring a Junior Financial Analyst to support day-to-day finance operations and reporting. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with strong Excel skills, solid accounting fundamentals, and high attention to detail. You’ll support transaction review, reconciliations, month-end close tasks, and recurring reporting, including exposure to multi-currency (CAD/USD) activity.
Responsibilities
1) Reporting & Analysis (Junior level)
- Prepare and maintain recurring weekly/monthly reports and KPI trackers in Excel using accounting exports and internal schedules
- Support basic variance tracking and investigate data inconsistencies for review
- Maintain trackers for revenue, vendor spend, purchasing/sales summaries, and margin support schedules (as assigned)
2) Month-End Close Support
- Assist with month-end close using established templates and checklists
- Prepare supporting schedules (e.g., accrual support, prepaid/expense analysis, clearing account support)
- Perform basic balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items
3) Transaction Processing & Documentation
- Organize and validate supporting documents for key transactions (invoices, receipts, approvals, purchasing records)
- Support consistent coding/classification to maintain clean financial records
- Coordinate with internal teams to obtain missing documentation and clarify transaction details
4) Multi-Currency Support (CAD/USD)
- Support tracking and documentation of multi-currency transactions (CAD/USD) and related schedules
- Assist with basic reconciliation support for multi-currency payments/receipts and ensure documentation is complete
- Maintain FX support schedules (e.g., rate trackers) as assigned
5) Process Improvement & Data Quality
- Help improve reporting templates and standardize recurring trackers
- Identify process gaps and propose practical improvements (checklists, standardized naming, automation opportunities)
- Assist with documenting finance procedures and maintaining organized records
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of finance/accounting experience (co-op/internship experience counts)
- Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS; comfortable working with structured templates
- Basic accounting knowledge (GL, reconciliations, accrual concepts, balance sheet vs P&L)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time-sensitive, recurring tasks
- Clear communication skills and ability to follow structured processes
Assets (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) or similar accounting software (asset; training available for strong candidates)
- Exposure to multi-currency transactions and/or purchasing/sales workflows
- Interest in pursuing CPA (or related professional development)

Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
