Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Protection Designer to join our dynamic team. This role involves creating comprehensive fire protection system designs for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and client specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical drafting skills, experience with CAD software, and a solid understanding of construction processes. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed fire protection system designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Create schematics, layouts, and construction drawings that meet project requirements and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and clients to interpret project specifications and translate them into accurate design documents.
- Utilize 3D modeling tools like SketchUp, NavisWorks, and Civil 3D for visualization and clash detection.
- Prepare detailed drafting packages for construction teams, ensuring clarity and precision in all documentation.
- Review project plans and specifications to ensure compliance with local codes and industry best practices.
- Assist in the development of 2D animations to illustrate system functions or installation procedures when necessary.
- Stay updated on fire protection codes, standards, and technological advancements to ensure current best practices are incorporated into designs.
Experience
- Proven experience in fire protection system design or related field within the construction or engineering industry.
- Proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, SketchUp, NavisWorks, and Civil 3D is essential.
- Strong understanding of schematics creation, drafting techniques, and construction documentation processes.
- Familiarity with building codes related to fire safety and life safety systems.
- Experience working on complex projects that require coordination across disciplines is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction practices and experience with schematic development enhances the ability to produce practical designs.
- Additional skills such as 2D animation are considered a plus for visual presentations or client communications.

Pay: $28.00-$45.00 per hour
