Job Description:
- Operate a container handler to move, stack, load, and offload shipping containers safely and efficiently.
- Ensure container stacking complies with customer and operational requirements.
- Load and offload containers from chassis, flatbeds, tow trucks, and other transport equipment.
- Operate a loader for snow removal during winter months and yard maintenance activities during summer operations.
- Maintain yard organization and cleanliness to support efficient daily operations.
- Perform daily inspections of the container handler, loader, and other yard equipment, including completing inspection reports.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing containers for visible damage and accurately report findings in the system.
- Maintain equipment according to vendor and company requirements, including fueling, greasing, and adding diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).
- Enter container movement information into company software accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor and respond to emails and phone calls regarding container pickups, deliveries, and customer/vendor requests.
- Assist with inventory counts and reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Perform general yard maintenance and light manual labour during slower operational periods.
- Assist with minor maintenance and repair tasks using basic tools and equipment.
- Ensure all drivers and visitors follow yard rules and safety procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Experience operating heavy machinery or industrial equipment preferred.
- Container handler or forklift certification is considered an asset; on-site training and certification may be provided.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Calm, professional, and safety-focused under pressure.
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate in both English and French.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Schedule
- 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch break.
- Various fixed shift options are available depending on operational needs, including daytime, evening, and weekend schedules.
- Paid overtime available based on operational requirements.
- Extended overtime hours may be required during peak periods, including summer, back-to-school season, Christmas, and Chinese New Year.
- Holiday work may occasionally be required and will be compensated in accordance with company policy.

Pay: $22.00-$32.00 per hour
