Job Summary:
Join us at our family owned and operated Placer Gold Mine outside of Dawson City, Yukon until October of 2026 as a Laborer. This is a seasonal position hiring multiple candidates. Laborer's are expected to safely lift 50lbs. Laborer's may sometimes be expected/taught to operate equipment such as skid steers, forklifts or even larger machines should interest arise. Labourers will work with various tradespeople across the mine site to assist in completion of miscellaneous projects.
Responsibilities:
-Load and unload trucks for Office Workers
-Take instruction from and assist Heavy Duty or Automotive Mechanics
- Take instruction from and assist Carpenters
-Take instruction from and assist Welders
-Clean up and organize worksites
-Help with fueling heavy machines
- Do fluid checks on crew vehicles
-Run parts between mine sites
Qualifications:
-Class 5 License
- Eagerness to learn new skills
- Prior experience in trades is an asset
This is a camp position with a 12 day on, 2 days off shift. We offer relocation assistance to get to the Yukon however this is NOT fly in fly out work, nor is end of season travel covered. Camp accommodations include a private room, shared wash facilities and a dining hall providing 3 meals a day.
Wages $25/hour with overtime after 8hrs.
11hrs/day, 77hrs/week.
