We are currently accepting resumes for experienced and qualified Marine Cooks for upcoming work in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all meals required as per Master’s orders for a crew of no less than 10, following dietary requirements when necessary
- Prepare ordering lists for food/items and supervise the ordering and delivery of the food and food related items and ensure the food ordered is satisfactory
- Abide by food production and sanitization codes
- Maintain Galley, Mess, fridges and freezers at a high standard of cleanliness
- Practice workplace health and safety procedures
- Other duties as required
Reporting to the Master, this list is a summary of key responsibilities. Additional duties and responsibilities as reasonably consistent with those usually performed by a Marine Cook may be required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ships Cook Certificate of Competency (Mandatory)
- Marine Emergency Duties Certificate (STCW)
- Marine Advanced First Aid
- Valid and Unlimited Transport Canada Marine Medical
- Proven track record of relevant offshore experience in the marine sector
- Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- French fluency considered an asset
