Description:
Reporting to the Senior Communications Advisor, the Service Counter Attendant provides customer service related to the various activities of the City of Pointe-Claire. The incumbent responds to citizens on various issues related to City services.
Departmental mission:
The mission of the Communications Department is to ensure the quality of the City’s communications with citizens and other audiences and to maintain the City’s reputation and the consistency of its image.
General responsibilities and goals:
- Handles customer inquiries, ensuring that responses are accurate by using the tools at their disposal or by taking the necessary steps with the departments concerned.
- Ensures that the required service is provided in accordance with the agreements negotiated with the departments.
- Receives, handles, and follows up on customer requests, complaints, comments, suggestions, and claims.
- Collects and processes multiple forms of payment, as well as reconciliation of the cash register and statements.
- Ensures that they are knowledgeable about the information required for their job and that customer information documents are made available.
- Submits or forwards, when required, permits and certificates already issued by Urban Planning or the Public Security & Inspection department.
- Uses various devices and systems as needed to perform certain job-related tasks.
- Enters the required information into the software program in use.
- Acts as a commissioner of oath.
- Performs all other related duties.
Job requirements:
- Hold a high school (Secondary 5) diploma or equivalent;
- Minimum of two to three years of experience;
- Bilingualism (spoken and written French and English);
- Knowledge of the City’s municipal services and activities;
- Knowledge of MS Office;
Schedule:
35 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. minus 45 minutes for lunch, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
