Summary
Beneco Packaging is seeking a Folding Gluer Operator to join our dynamic team in Canada. This role is vital in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality packaging solutions that align with our company's mission of innovation and excellence.
Position Details:
- Location: 520 William Street, Cobourg, ON K9A 3A5
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Salary: $26.00 – $34.00 per hour (Adjust based on candidate experience)
- Shift: 12-Hour Shift
Core Responsibilities:
- Advanced Machine Makeready: Independently set up, calibrate, and prepare folding-gluing machinery according to structural job specifications and blueprints.
- Complex Carton Setup: Program, adjust, and run technical carton designs including 4-corner, 6-corner, and auto-bottom (crash-lock) styles.
- Production Running: Stack and feed carton blanks into the machine mechanism, regulating feeding speeds to minimize downtime.
- Quality Control: Monitor the automatic folding and gluing process. Perform regular quality checks for color consistency, alignment, and proper glue adhesion to eliminate defects.
- Adhesive Management: Monitor glue extrusion systems (hot-melt or cold glue) to ensure proper, neat application on complex joints.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Clean glue nozzles, perform routine preventative maintenance, and safely clear machine jams.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating high-speed folding-gluing finishing equipment (e.g., Bobst, Heidelberg, Moll, or similar) within the folding carton/packaging industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven ability to troubleshoot and execute independent setups for 4-corner, 6-corner, and auto-bottom packaging jobs.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong troubleshooting capabilities to adjust machinery configuration on the fly.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent visual color discrimination to catch printing or construction defects early.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for the duration of a 12-hour shift and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
