The Opportunity
We are actively looking to fill the following Full-time role based in Kamloops, BC:
- Lead Ranch Hand, Sugarloaf Ranch – Posting ID# 2026-013.
This position is responsible for all aspects of the general ranch duties.

What You’ll Do
- Ensure all livestock eat and drink every day; conduct regular checks on livestock;
- Ensure the health and welfare of livestock and farm animals by tagging, vaccinating, and performing or arranging veterinary care as required;
- Assist with gathering, moving and cutting cattle as directed;
- Assist with birthing and care of livestock and their young;
- Assist with branding of livestock;
- Repair and maintain all equipment, fencing, buildings and land; conduct general barn and premises chores;
- Prepare haying equipment and conduct cuts as required; store hay;
- Operate heavy farm equipment and machinery;
- Ensure health and safety is maintained on the ranch at all times;
- Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience working on a farm/ranch;
- Knowledge of animal and livestock health – recognizing, diagnosing and treating sick and distressed animals and livestock;
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and any other relevant licenses required to operate farm equipment, machinery and vehicles;
- Ability to operate farm machinery;
- Ability to construct new fences and repair existing fences;
- Ability to care for animals including calving, vaccinating, feeding, watering, moving and hauling;
- Ability to ride a horse proficiently and work with cattle while riding a horse;
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.;
- Ability to communicate with others;
- Capable of working effectively with minimal supervision;
- Ability to problem solve when working on your own;
- Ability to follow direction;
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).

Compensation for this position is determined by experience and alignment with role requirements, and typically ranges from $43,000 to $45,500. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive awards.
