Responsibilities:
- Working with our driving fleet to guide and assist them.
- Managing drivers start and ending times to the company needs.
- Routing drivers through the city for timely pickup and delivery of shipments
- Ability to fit together cargo on a 48' flatbed truck and be knowledgeable of oil field equipment that we are hauling.
- Capability to resolve trouble issues within the operation.
- Assisting in the freight chain from customers request to delivery in an efficient and cost effective manner.
- Managing a high level of email volume.
- Taking orders from customers via email and phone, negotiating competitive rates, providing proper documentation and ensuring delivery schedules within an expedited time-frame.
- Following up to ensure deliveries are on schedule according to the logistical plans of the team.
- Expediting as necessary to ensure customers transportation requirements are taken care of.
- Helping the team to determine the best way to ship, negotiating rates and providing all the necessary documentation.
- Familiar with piecing together cargo on a flatbed trailer, setting up permits and equipment necessary to haul the customer’s cargo.
- Loading and offloading oil field freight by use of forklift
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years full-time work experience; college degree preferred
- Vast understanding of Flatbed trucking operations
- 2 year experience with logistics and trucking operations
- Strategically routing drivers through the city to meet pickup and delivery time lines
- Working in our trucking software to update shipments timely
- Ensuring drivers follow Pinch and DOT safety guidelines
- Ability to deal with a sporadic, fast-paced environment
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills
- Strong work ethic, solid negotiation and conflict-management skills
- Above average email management, computer and typing skills
- Prior customer service skills
- 1 year of forklift operating experience
