Job description:
Diresco Inc is currently seeking full time restoration carpenter to service our numerous clients.
Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Damage Demolition: Safely remove and dispose of fire-charred, water-rotted, or mold-infested building materials (e.g., framing, subflooring, drywall) without causing further damage.
- Structural Reconstruction: Rebuild and repair damaged frameworks, including repairing floor beams, roof systems, and erecting new wall studs according to current building codes.
- Finish Carpentry: Install interior and exterior trim, crown molding, baseboards, door frames, windows, stairs, and cabinetry.
- Material Management: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel.
- Jobsite Safety: Strictly adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards, particularly when dealing with hazardous or water-damaged sites.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Proven professional experience in rough framing, finish carpentry, and cabinet installation.
- Physical Capability: High physical stamina to stand for long periods, kneel on hard surfaces, climb ladders, and lift heavy materials.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication to coordinate closely with the Project Manager, other restoration technicians, and the property owner.
Important Soft Skills:
- Problem-Solving: The ability to adapt to hidden, unexpected damage uncovered during demolition.
- Attention to Detail: Precision and meticulousness are critical to matching new structural additions to existing, undamaged parts of the home.
- Organization: Must be able to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at the client's property.
