Candidates with at least one year of current tractor-trailer experience are encouraged to apply, and prior experience at Montreal’s ports is considered an asset. Please note that we employ our drivers directly rather than as contractors.
Intermodal drivers are responsible for the movement of containers from the ocean port and railyards in Montreal to various destinations in eastern Ontario and Quebec. Drivers will pick up loaded containers on chassis from Montreal and deliver them to various customers or drop lots then return to the ports with empty or loaded containers. Most deliveries are live unload with a driver often staying hooked to the same chassis for several days at a time. These positions allow drivers to return home to Montreal each night. Safety and patience are key considerations, as drivers will be spending time in congested and busy rail yards with large equipment.
Opportunity Details:
- 1 year of verifiable Class-1/AZ experience is required
- DAY SHIFT Monday to Friday. 5 am - 5 pm or 6 am to 6 pm. Enjoy your evenings and weekends at home!
- Park location is in Vaudreuil-Dorion
- Pay is a mix of mileage, activity and hourly with bonus programs.
- No-touch freight!
- No border crossings!
- Day cab truck (could be slip-seat in future)
- Transporting containers on chassis to/from customers, yards, and the ocean/rail ports.
- Dry van and reefer trailer work may be added as needed
