Helm and Sons Plumbing, Heating and Electrical are looking for a motivated Labourer/Apprentice to join our team and support our HVAC, plumbing, and electrical technicians on residential and commercial projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a long‑term skilled trade career and gain hands‑on experience across multiple disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical technicians on job sites
- Perform basic labour tasks: material handling, site cleanup, equipment setup
- Help with installation, maintenance, and repair tasks under supervision
- Use hand and power tools safely and responsibly
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Communicate professionally with team members and customers
- Support the team with any additional duties as required
Requirements
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction materials preferred
- Strong work ethic with a focus on safety and quality workmanship
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
- Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and in tight spaces
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods
- Reliable transportation to shop; valid driver’s license is preferred but not required for all roles
- Experience in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical is an asset but not required
