Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our compassionate veterinary team. This position is for the weekend shift, you would be expected to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday and every 2nd Monday for 12 hour shifts.
This dual-role position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about animal care and customer service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support in clinical tasks as well as managing front desk operations, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for clients and their pets. Experience in a veterinary setting, particularly laboratory experience, is highly valued.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets with professionalism and compassion
- Schedule appointments, manage client records, and handle phone inquiries
- Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, including preparing animals for examinations and treatments
- Perform laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and basic testing when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and laboratory areas
- Provide basic animal restraint during examinations or procedures
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and preventive health measures
- Ensure accurate documentation of medical records and treatments administered
Requirements
- Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Must be able to handle physical tasks such as lifting animals, standing for extended periods, and assisting with animal restraint

Pay: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
