Role: You will be responsible for directing traffic during large events within MNP Community & Sport Centre parking lot and keeping the parking lot clean and running smoothly
Reports to: Director of Facility Operations & Services and/or Duty Manager, who provides supervision and direction related to workloads and tasks when the Director of Facility Operations & Services is off duty.
- Free facility access based on hours worked plus a variety of free and discounted programs & services.

- Free parking and close to transit with a C-train and bus stop steps away.
- Safely and efficiently direct motorists to park their cars in confined spaces
- Keep the parking lot clear of unauthorized, non-MNP Community & Sport Centre usage, and monitor traffic flow and ticket accordingly.
- Chalk tires as needed
- Complete offsite parking audits
- Provide prompt, friendly, courteous customer service to the general public and others encountered in the performance of duties.
- Pick up any litter that is in the parking lot
- Take care of the outdoor grounds as needed, includes laying ice melt, shoveling, sweeping, using leaf blower exc. Additionally, clean up homeless encampments and ensure facility grounds are kept tidy
- Provide general MNP Community & Sport Centre information as needed for the public.
- Communicate with other employees via handheld radio.
- Complete event setup and takedown of equipment including, but not limited to: tables, chairs, stages, pipe and drape, stanchions, stereo system, and fitness equipment, with the physical ability to bend, lift and carry barricades, signs, pylons exc.
- Working in hot or cold temperate and ability to stand for long periods at a time
- Working with Calgary Parking Authority
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with public by providing clear and concise instructions
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm; customer-focused mindset
- Ability to perform duties in an outdoor environment in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work independently, stand, walk, or otherwise get around on hard surfaces for 3 to 8 hours continuously
- Prior public contact or customer service experience would be an asset
