Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled level II Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, proficiency in Abeldent software, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment before and after use.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Handle administrative tasks, including billing and insurance verification.
- Support pediatric patients with care tailored to their needs, fostering a comfortable environment.
- Assist in orthodontic procedures when required.
Requirements
- certification in level 2 dental assisting is preferred.
- Proficiency in Abeldent dental software applications is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Experience in pediatrics or orthodontics is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is beneficial.
