Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive repair, heavy equipment maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trailers and related industrial equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. Candidates with dealership experience, welding skills, and familiarity with various machinery are highly encouraged to apply. The Trailer Mechanic will play a vital role in supporting our operations by ensuring all trailers and equipment meet safety standards and operate efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair trailer mechanical issues using hand tools, power tools, and schematics
- Perform routine maintenance on trailers including brake systems, electrical wiring, suspension, and tires
- Conduct welding repairs on trailers and related equipment as needed
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators or other industrial equipment for moving or positioning trailers
- Inspect trailers for safety compliance and perform necessary repairs to meet industry standards
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities
- Assist with assembly of new trailers or components when required
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems efficiently
- Follow safety protocols during all repair activities to prevent accidents or injuries
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with trailers, heavy equipment, or automotive repair
- Dealership experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and industrial machinery
- Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or farm machinery
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems or other specialized equipment is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid certification or licensing related to heavy equipment operation is preferred but not required

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
