Overview
We are a construction company located in Nunavut. This a rotational position with flights and accommodations included.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install rebar according to project specifications
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape rebar using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to fit precise locations within forms
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or cranes to transport and position rebar safely on construction sites
- Secure rebar in place using ties, caulking, or welding techniques while ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes
- Assist with concrete forming, masonry work, flooring installation, and other related tasks to support overall project progress
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, concrete finishers, and other tradespeople to coordinate installation efforts during renovation or new builds
- Conduct routine inspections of installed rebar for quality control and make adjustments as needed for structural integrity
Experience
- Proven construction experience at least 3 years with a focus on rebar installation
- Mechanical knowledge of tools including hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery operation
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with construction safety procedures and protocols for heavy lifting and working at heights
- Knowledge of concrete forming techniques and flooring installation processes is desirable
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or working in challenging environments
