Job Description
Duration: 52 weeks (37.5 Hrs/Wk)
Renumeration: $20.00/Hr
Position Summary
NiGiNan’s Indigenous Housing Support Intern will be embedded within a culturally grounded supportive housing community for Indigenous families. This role provides hands-on experience in tenant support, program development, and community-based service delivery within an Indigenous-led housing model.
The intern will work alongside experienced staff, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers to support tenants in maintaining housing stability, strengthening life skills, and reconnecting with culture and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Support tenants through day-to-day interactions, relationship building, and informal case support
- Assist in the planning and delivery of cultural programming, community events, and workshops
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to coordinated care approaches
- Support intake processes and tenant orientation as appropriate
- Assist with documenting programming, participation, and outcomes
- Work collaboratively with staff, Elders, and community partners
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and culturally grounded environment

- Exposure to multiple roles within supportive housing to support career exploration
Pay: $20.00 per hour
