Part-Time Sales Associate – Contemporary Art Gallery (Vancouver)
Overview
We are a contemporary art gallery located in the heart of Vancouver seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and organized Sales Associate with a genuine passion for the arts. This role is integral to supporting the gallery’s sales team and fostering meaningful relationships with collectors and visitors.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in art history and is confident engaging with a diverse, sophisticated, and international clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional, personalized customer service to all visitors
- Build relationships with collectors and actively engage clients in discussions about artworks
- Support sales initiatives and assist in closing transactions
- Manage day-to-day gallery operations, including:
- Packaging and shipping artworks
- Responding to client inquiries
- Assisting with social media and digital communications
- Maintaining the gallery’s presentation and organization
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or equivalent art-related education (completed or in progress)
- Previous experience in sales or customer service, preferably within a luxury retail or gallery environment
- Professional, articulate verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible schedule, with availability to work weekends
Assets
- Proficiency in Mandarin, French, or Spanish
- Experience with image editing software and/or website management
Compensation
- $22/hour base pay
- Performance-based bonus tied to sales
