Our client, a well-established organization located in the heart of Downtown Toronto, is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their team on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.

You'll play a key role in managing outstanding accounts receivable while supporting the implementation of a new billing system.

Responsibilities
- Investigate outstanding accounts receivable by reviewing billing records and identifying overdue balances.
- Contact clients to follow up on outstanding invoices and ensure timely payment.
- Manage a high volume of outbound collection calls while maintaining professionalism and strong customer relationships.
- Accurately document all client communications, collection efforts, and account updates throughout the process.
- Track outstanding receivables manually while supporting business operations prior to the implementation of a new billing system.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports in Excel to monitor collection activity and account status.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales and finance teams, to resolve billing discrepancies and outstanding account issues.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all collection activities are completed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of accounts receivable and collections experience.
- Proven experience managing a high volume of outbound collection calls.
- Confident, proactive personality with the ability to have difficult conversations while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating and maintaining reports.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a high-volume, transactional environment is considered an asset.
- Previous experience collaborating with sales teams to resolve customer account issues is considered an asset.
- Available to start as soon as possible.
