Key Responsibilities
As the Project Manager, you will lead the successful execution of civil construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, aligning scope, schedule, and resources to meet client and organizational objectives.
- Oversee all phases of project execution, ensuring work progresses efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to timelines and budgets.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies, fostering strong relationships and clear communication.
- Lead discussions around scope changes, negotiate contracts, and ensure all stakeholders remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
Financial Management & Cost Control
- Monitor project budgets, track costs, and ensure financial performance aligns with forecasts and contractual requirements.
- Review and approve progress billings, change orders, and subcontractor payments to maintain accurate financial reporting.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including superintendents, coordinators, subcontractors, and technical staff.
- Facilitate regular project meetings to review progress, address challenges, and drive accountability across all stakeholders.
Contract Administration & Documentation
- Manage all project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and project records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee procurement processes, subcontractor agreements, and permit acquisition to support seamless project delivery.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor site activities and implement improvements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Project Closeout & Continuous Improvement
- Lead project closeout activities, including final inspections, documentation, and financial reconciliation.
- Identify lessons learned and opportunities for process improvements to enhance future project performance.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:
Education & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- Extensive experience managing civil construction or infrastructure projects, including full project lifecycle responsibility.
Technical Skills:
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost reports.
- Proficiency with project management and construction software such as B2W, Procore, or similar platforms.
Key Competencies:
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, subcontractors, and multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Strong financial acumen and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on building lasting client relationships.
