Full job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced ECE to join our Before and After School teacher team. This is a part-time position, with 25 hours/week. Additional hours may be available during Spring Break and Summer Vacation.
As a Before and After School Teacher, you will:
· Ensure a clean and safe environment for children.
· Provide learning experiences and opportunities to children.
· Establish loving, positive, safe and secure relationships with the children.
· Nurture to children’s individual physical, social-emotional, and mental wellness needs.
· Connect and engage in collaborative partnerships with fellow educators, colleagues, families, and the greater community.
· Prepare, plan, implement and organize activities in-line with the centre’s curriculum to support the development of children’s social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical growth.
· Communicate children’s learning development and progress with families/caregivers and colleagues
· Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities where necessary.
Qualifications
As a Before and After School Teacher, you need to have:
· A valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate
· A valid Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR/AED Level B Certificate
· A clear Criminal Record Check
· Legally permitted to work in Canada
· Strong communication skills; good spoken and written in English
· A high level of responsibility and accountability
· Commitment and dedication
· Excellent interpersonal skills. Have a passion for building and maintaining relationships with students, families, and colleagues
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in Before/After School setting
