Dawson Construction is seeking an experienced and motivated Asphalt Plant Operator to support the daily operations of our asphalt production facility.
In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a seasonal, full-time position of Asphalt Plant Operator. Reporting to the Superintendent, Asphalt Plant, and a key member of the operations team, this role is responsible for supporting safe and efficient plant production, maintaining quality control standards, monitoring equipment performance, and ensuring compliance with all safety requirements. Your base location will be Kamloops, B.C. and will require some travel throughout our great province.

Operate asphalt plant equipment in a safe, efficient, and productive manner to support daily production goals.

Monitor plant systems and make operational adjustments as needed to ensure consistent quality and output.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies.

Perform routine inspections of plant equipment and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.

Support the loading, handling, and tracking of raw materials, ensuring accurate batching and proper inventory usage.

Assist with troubleshooting and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

Work closely with quality control teams to ensure asphalt meets required specifications and standards.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.

Accurately complete production logs, inspection records, and other required documentation using manual or computer-based systems.

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding plant status, safety concerns, and operational issues.
WHAT YOU BRING

Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in asphalt plant operations or a related field.

Strong knowledge of asphalt production processes, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.

Excellent problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to quality and efficiency.

Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations related to industrial plant operations.
