Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and stone to construct, restore, and repair structures. This role requires a strong understanding of masonry techniques, blueprint reading, and the operation of various tools and equipment. The Brick Mason will contribute to both new construction projects and renovation or restoration work, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
- Measure and mark guidelines for bricklaying based on blueprints or schematics
- Mix mortar and prepare materials for masonry work
- Lay bricks, blocks, stone, or other materials with precision using hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and levels
- Operate power tools and heavy equipment as needed for demolition or foundation work
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate construction
- Repair or restore existing structures through repointing, caulking, or replacement of damaged materials
- Maintain a clean worksite by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects efficiently and safely
Experience
- Proven experience in masonry or construction work involving bricklaying or stonework
- Familiarity with hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution
- Experience with renovation or restoration projects is a plus
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materials when required
