Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly.
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product inquiries to enhance their shopping experience.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and confidence, ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities.
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure products are attractive and accessible.
- Assist with stocking shelves, inventory management, and store cleanliness to support smooth store operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns professionally, practicing good phone etiquette, and fostering positive interactions.
- Support retail sales goals through proactive upselling and suggestive selling techniques.
- Engage customers in product knowledge sharing, including offering product demos when appropriate.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the store remains welcoming, clean, and well-organized.
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience using POS systems is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills in retail or customer service environments.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with retail sales environments is advantageous.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to build rapport with diverse customers.
- Ability to perform merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing displays effectively.
