Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled, motivated Autobody Painter and Refinisher to restore vehicles to their original condition. You will manage the entire painting process with precision and care, ensuring customers receive top-quality repairs. This fast-paced role is ideal for someone passionate about automotive repair who takes pride in making vehicles look brand new.Duties & Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, taping, masking, and cleaning efficiently to ensure optimal paint adhesion without wasting materials.
- Paint Application: Mix, match, and apply primers, basecoats, and clearcoats using professional spray guns and hand tools with accuracy and consistency.
- Body Repair & Prep: Take out dents, work with bondo, and use power or hand tools to perform minor body repairs before painting.
- Quality Control: Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections, performing necessary touch-ups or rework to meet strict quality standards.
- Workflow Collaboration: Partner with the repair team to coordinate shop workflow and ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Safety & Maintenance: Follow safe practices and shop protocols, including wearing proper PPE and certified steel-toe shoes.
- Environment Care: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WHMIS symbols and keep the mixing room, paint booth, and workspace clean.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years preferred. Automotive repair shop or dealership experience is highly desirable.
- Credentials: Certification or equivalent credentials preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle structures, repair processes, and basic automotive systems.
- Equipment Proficiency: Mastery of hand tools, power tools, spray guns, and refinishing equipment.
- Physical Ability: Capability to lift heavy parts or materials safely during the repair process.
- Key Attributes: Punctual, reliable, highly organized, and exceptionally detail-oriented with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Teamwork: Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate seamlessly as a team player.
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
