Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with various tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with dealership service, excavators, cranes, Caterpillar equipment, forklifts, farm machinery, HVAC systems, and electrical repairs is highly desirable. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections
- Conduct welding and assembly work as needed for repairs or upgrades
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs to ensure proper functioning
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all repair activities
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and perform preventive maintenance to reduce future breakdowns
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and professionally
Skills
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment and industrial machinery
- Dealership experience preferred, especially with Caterpillar or similar brands
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to excavators, cranes, forklifts, HVAC systems, and farm machinery
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes
- Experience with electrical systems repair and diagnostics in heavy equipment
- Capable of heavy lifting and operating heavy machinery safely
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills for effective customer service and teamwork
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair

Pay: $28.02-$55.35 per hour
