Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Manager to oversee and enhance safety protocols within our manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing safety standards and be committed to fostering a culture of safety excellence. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, reducing workplace hazards, and promoting a safe working environment for all employees. The Safety Manager will play a key role in training and development initiatives aimed at maintaining high safety standards across the organization.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures aligned with industry regulations and best practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
- Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate safety training programs for employees, including onboarding sessions, refresher courses, and specialized training related to manufacturing processes.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness through ongoing communication, safety meetings, and engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and ensure readiness for various scenarios.
- Monitor safety metrics, prepare reports, and track progress toward safety goals.
- Stay current with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices in workplace safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of industrial safety standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering effective training & development programs related to workplace safety.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental health & safety laws, and risk management principles.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence organizational culture towards safety excellence.
- Excellent communication skills for conducting training sessions, safety meetings, and reporting findings clearly.
- Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or OSHA certifications is preferred but not required.
- Ability to analyze complex situations quickly and implement practical solutions effectively.
